No VOTE Obama

This Obama poster was designed for a class using Illustrator. I'm as republican as they get. So spending 20+ hours researching a person I really don't like was challenging. I did have fun creating the illustrations and working with Kulur.com to find the perfect color swatches.
Disclaimer: I do understand that it's not only the women's fault Obama got elected. This poster was done in jest, I mean come on, Obama's ears really aren't that big. Right?

Invitation

This was a fun project for me. This invite was a Daylight Savings party, so using the night owl theme worked perfectly - especially since owls are so popular right now. I designed this in Illustrator after an hour or so researching owls. I then placed the owl vector into InDesign to create a greeting card layout using master pages and also to work with the type.  I found a great font on dafont.com and started working to put it all together. This was the first project where I actually created the illustration instead of getting it from a free vector website. It since has been used and sold several times for different projects.

Imagination

This was a project I created for a class. I wanted to illustrate the idea of child-like wonder vs reality. The world seemed so big and limitless as a child. Even as a child I remember thinking I could do anything when I "grew up." But with time, all that imagination and wonder leaves us and we become adults wishing for the simpler days. I created the poster in Illustrator using various tools such as the pen tool, the gradient tool, and several different brushes. All of the tiny illustrations you see in the question mark I designed by hand, save a few found in the symbols panel.

Trunk or Treat

This is a poster I created for a church during the fall season. I used Illustrator to create the pumpkin and then placed it into InDesign where I worked on the layout and typography.

Photo Realism

This was a project I worked on for my Illustrator class. I will admit to hating every second I worked on it; I will also admit it taught me so many new ways to create things. I did all of the work in Illustrator using different tools such as the gradient tool, the gradient mesh tool, the pen tool, and so many of the special effects I have never used before. I used a photo I took as a template and tried to achieve a photo realistic vector.

Life Proof Cases

Life Proof cases designed for a school project. I decided to go with a more simple theme when creating these cases. Typically when a person is shopping for a phone case they want something that resembles their personality. These cases would work best for a teenage crowd, a group of kids that are chaotic and fun.
